Pulau Pinang is a state located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The country is divided into two parts by the Straits of Malacca. This state is the first British settlement in Peninsular Malaysia. The island's name is taken from the name of tree nut (areca catechu). It also called Tanjung Bidara before known Pulau Pinang.
