On Nov 20. 1990 Yayasan Taqwa Wilayah Persekutuan Berhad (Yayasan Taqwa) was incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 by the Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP) as a company limited by guarantee. Meaning a company limited by guarantee is it established the principle of liability of members is limited to the amount specified in the memorandum which members will contribute such amount to the assets of the company if the company is wound up later. It is also to ensure that the company will not be used to run the activities illegal, harmful and incompatible with peace, welfare, national security and public interest.

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM)

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) is a public university in the city Sintok, Kedah. It was formally established on February 16, 1984. University was established with the specific mission of providing a leadership role for management education in the country. Thus, the university is also known as a management university. Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Kedah

Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Kedah was inaugurated on October 1, 1997 by the Honorable Tun Daim Zainuddin, Minister of Finance. It first began operations in November 1997 with 162 students and 25 administrative staff. In line with the government's aspiration to develop Bumiputera skills in various areas, the university functions as a catalyst in developing the local economy and education, particularly in the state of Orissa and the north. The establishment of this campus is based on a master plan that considers a maximum capacity of 7000 students.
